Die Gebrüder Herbots oder besser gesagt die Familie Herbots ! In der Dungelstraat in Halle Booienhoven befasst sich jedes Familienmitglied mehr oder weniger mit Brieftauben. Eine Faustregel im Hause Herbots: Jedermann ist willkommen und wird mit einem Lächeln empfangen. Die Kaffekanne ist stets gefüllt, ein Schokosnack wird gerne gereicht und sollte das Familienoberhaupt Filip mit am Tisch sitzen so kann man sicher sein, die eine oder andere faszinierende Geschichte zu hören. Es ist wirklich erstaunlich, wie sehr Filip und Jo von unserem geliebten Taubensport besessen sind. Als Besucher weiss man, dass diese Züchter alles erlebt und gewonnen haben, was es im Taubensport gibt. Umso mehr ist man erstaunt wenn beide uni sono sagen, dass 2018 das beste Reisejahr ist, das sie je hatten. Filip ig an seinem Kaffee und setzt die Geschichte fort: “Listen … wir können uns wahrlich nicht beschweren. Wir beenden die Saison mit 45 reinen 1. Preisen und auf nationaler Ebene fliegen wir den 3. National Bourges gegen 8.978 Jährige (458 km) – 4. National Limoges gegen 15.789 Tauben (652 km) – 4. National Argenton gegen 8.772 Jährige (538 km). Angemerkt sei noch ein wichtiges Deatail. Letzte Saison hatten wir zu 95% Kopfwindflüge. Dies war für unsere Tauben und Lage bei den Nationalflügen nicht gerade ein Vorteil. Aber eins macht uns besonders glücklich und stolz. Wir haben sage und schreibe 7 Tauben, welche sich für die Olympiadeauswahl 2019 in Polen für Belgien qualifiziert haben! Im Jahr 1997 in Basel und in 2015 in Budapest stellten wir jeweils 2 Tauben und dies war schon aussergewöhnlich.”

FROM THE BEGINNING A SOLID BASE

Als Filip und sein Bruder Jos im Jahr 1955 mit dem Brieftaubensport begannen waren sie junge Teenager. Wie in vielen belgischen Familien üblich, hielten mehrere Familienmitglieder bereits Tauben und die Herbots-Jungs wollten sich sofort mit Spitzenergebnissen abheben. Im Laufe der Jahre wurde es eine Geschichte voller Erfolge und Rückschläge. Jeder von ihnen bekam seine Lektionen. Eine grosse Rolle beim Schlagaufbau spielten die Stoces Tauben. Sie kauften damals nicht eine oder zehn, nein es waren 124 original Stoces Tauben. Diese Tauben wurden streng selektiert und nur 21 blieben übrig. Diese verbliebenen Tauben waren die Basis für die späteren Erfolge. Aber diese Erfolgsgeschichte wurde weiter geschrieben. Im Jahr 1988 kamen die ersten Soontjens Tauben nach Halle-Booienhoven und im Folgenden noch viele mehr. Sie brachten noch mehr Schnelligkeit in die Herbots-Kolonie und 1. Preise wurden zur Regelmässigkeit. Das herausragende Beispiel dieser Leistungsfähigkeit wurde der “155”, He was bred in Jos Soontjes in conjunction with a Herbots females. Dies ist wohl auch die Kontante in der Herbots-Geschichte, dass sowohl Filip u auch Jo immer auf der Suche nach aussergewöhnlichen Tauben sind, unabhängig davon mit welchen finanziellen Aufwand dies verbunden ist. Anzumerken ist, dass beide ein besonderes Augenmerkt auf Olympiade-Tauben legen. Dies ist jedoch einfach zu erklären. Eine nationale AS-Taube ist eine Supertaube. Diese bringen klasse Reiseleitungen in einem Jahr. Aber Olympiade-Tauben müssen in der Regel Super-Ergebnisse in zwei Reisejahren hintereinander zeigen. Olympiade-Tauben werden auf jeweils nationaler Ebene ganz besonders ausgewählt. Dies sind die Supertauben unter den Supertauben. Aber es gehört auch etwas Glück dazu, dass eine Taube in den beiden Jahren vor der jeweiligen Olympiade ihre Top-Ergebnisse fliegt. Nehmen sie z.B. den “Yvan” Herbots.
