SG Surinx-Pletsers – The ALLROUNDER…
Travel season 2020
"We are very happy. Because of Corona, our racing pigeons became darkened a little longer. Before that we did it until mid-May, and now was blacked out until early June. This season was the second Already a middle-distance race, and very soon after that came the heavy middle distance. As a result, there were fewer pigeons on the Short haul, and soon after that we start on the +300 km flights. In the Last years we also try to focus on the weather conditions let in to see what the pigeons can endure. You have to consider pigeon as an individual; when they are at a certain distance scores well, she stays on this route. We try not to to go along with the crowd, but look at each pigeon individually. That is not always easy, of course, and sometimes you make mistakes when you gets impatient. We hope to start the new season again in 2021, at the end of March to be able to go. Then the pigeons on several routes participate, which simplifies the final selection.”
Last season they scored 3rd national ace pigeon small Middle distance KBDB young (Sunshine) - 13th national ace pigeon short distance KBDB yearlings (Rainbow) – 1st National Zone Libourne – 1st Provincial Sens against 7500 pigeons. (Bonk, brother to Sunshine). Flew this season among the TOP 100 on the routes up to 750 km: 1. Chimay against 4500 Young – 1st provincial Argenton yearlings against nearly 5,000. pigeons. Also the biggest success this year 4th National Champion on the Long distance KBDB in the old birds. The proof of the class of Allrounder colony.
Rainbow und Sunshine
are now moving to the breeding loft. Then there is the tribe des Yvan (1st and + 4th national ace pigeon KBDB) from the brothers Herbots brothers and the Etienne Devos pigeons (parents of 1st national Montelimar). At the end of 2019 came the famous top pigeon "Jack", two years old long best Belgian sprint and golden ace pigeon LCB, in the Breeding loft in Nieuwerkerken. This super bird won the short distances (without duplication) 1/2391 – 1/2000 – 1/897 – 1/822 – 1/734 – 1/523 – 1/368 – 1/239 – 1/90 – 2/555 – 2/205 – 5/897 – 8/3245 – 34/3787 …).
breeding loft
In fact, Surinx-Pletsers have a strong breeding loft and are always on the lookout for fast and intelligent pigeons. They prefer pigeons from lesser-known breeders because they can be bought at a reasonable price. We all know that you have to build your breeding success on good pigeons.
These breeders all stay in one loft, its front is provided with a grid so that the birds have plenty of oxygen, which they absolutely need to stay healthy. All year round get the breeding birds Avidress Plus and UsneGano over their water. During the breeding season, Surinx Pletsers give birth four days a week Gervit-W into the potions. In addition, the pigeons get fresh ones every day Grit and Tasty Stone. The breeding birds are fed twice a day, and receive them five days a week, on the advice of her friend Uwe Müller, Optibreed about the feed. In fact, they breed without any problems five rounds with young animals. Here they always mate their pigeons early; the Breeding birds come together as early as the end of November. For preparation then they start about two weeks before, only in the morning from 4 o'clock expose. During this time, until the time of egg laying, use Bt-Amin forte, then Gervit-W. Bt-Amin forte promotes their mating desire. In addition, the pigeons receive K+K powder as a preparation about the feed, because Surinx-Pletsers is convinced of this from experience are that it causes better fertilization. during the breeding season the feed is regularly mixed with K+K powder - herbs-vegetables_mix - Pavifac brewer's yeast and Entrobac dried.
Supply
"If you work hard, you also have to eat well."
A good feed mix is very important here. Surinx Pletsers prefer feeding an easily digestible mixture, after which it will the food richer (two meals). Every day they give Hemp seeds and shelled sunflower seeds towards the end of the week. In the morning the pigeons get fresh grit, expert mineral, supplemented by seeds and hemp seeds. After a race with two nights in the basket they find Bt amine forte and guts in their drinking water and as soon as possibly a K+K Gold tablet (proteins). Also, they get Gervit-W over the feed and Ro200. On the flight day itself, too K+K tablet. It's a super product.
Before the season, the racing pigeons get Hexenbier in the water for a period of five to six weeks. In the same period of time the feed is moistened with Atemfrei and dried with Avimycin. This gives the pigeons beautiful "free airways" and white eyes. The advantage of these six weeks is that the pigeons become more resistant and the intestines remain healthy, in contrast to antibiotic treatment. They also follow the system during the flying season: every two weeks there are two or three days of breath-free and avimycin. Every other week there is Hessechol (to cleanse and detoxify the liver) together with Entrobac, a very good combination for the intestines. They also use Moorgold with an immune booster during the season, which also has a very positive effect on their condition. They also feed them Carni-Speed and Bt-Amin forte every day. As the season progresses, they also add Blitz Form on the final two days. An extra dose of iodine stimulates the form.
Good to know
“Starts with healthy pigeons, the necessary vaccinations and a regular visits to the vet. If the pigeons are not good enough eat, the pairs should get together for a few hours. After that they are much calmer and have more appetite after the breakup. A (voluntary) warm bath the day after the race ensures that they recover faster and better. We also allow this on the day of Baskets (noon) because it stimulates the appetite.”
The acidity of the water is crucial. He makes sure the pigeons remain free of trichomonas and also prevents many others problems (here they use Avidress Plus or Avitestin), always in combination with UsneGano, an oregano-based product that also stimulates the appetite and gives soft feathers.
A competition every week
Both the adults and the yearlings are basketed every week. This begins on the last weekend in March and ends on the first weekend in September. The pigeons rarely stay at home. The distances vary between 120 and 400 km during the first six weeks, then between 300 and 600 km. Last season there were also successes in the one-day long distances of more than 600 km. It was remarkable that the "Boonen" tribe can also fly these routes.
