The first to be mentioned in the Schlueter team are Dietmar Schlueter and Ralf Poelka. The two take care of the organizational things, such as the operational business and the clock analysis. Breeding is also mainly taken over by the two impact partners. Günter Schlueter, on the other hand, is the provider of the travel team and does it with full passion. The result is a great team of three sports friends who get along very well and have an extraordinarily sophisticated division of tasks. In this way you can do successful pigeon sport with fun and joy.

Günter, how did the pre-season for 2022 go? 

“Actually quite well, the boys were bred in January/February. Breeding went smoothly, the third round could also be used for the journey. Overall, everything started as planned and early prices were achieved at the beginning of the season before pneumonia set me back. We then also stopped traveling with the old birds.”

Did you then focus specifically on the youngsters? 

“Actually, we did everything as usual, but we vaccinated against rotavirus twice this year with RP Vacc and have finally not been affected by this serious disease for two years. In the past we often had big problems with it. But that was not the case this year, which we attribute to vaccination.”

Were the youngsters specially prepared? 

“Not much was actually done after the vaccination. I actually wanted to take a cure, but stopped after three or four days because the youngsters were in a great mood. We didn't do any private training either - once the boys were accustomed to the basket and then took part in the pre-tours of the RV. During the flights there was occasional basketing on the travel association's Wednesday tours.

The boys were in such a great mood that they practically trained themselves at home. Sometimes you haven't seen them for over an hour. That was really great.”

What was the reason for this extraordinary shape? 

“We think it was primarily health. With the vaccinations and the precautionary administration of Röhnfried products, we have done everything possible to get in good shape. And that obviously paid off!”

Which products did you use and how exactly? 

"We mainly used a lot of young animal powder to strengthen the immune system of the young. In the first days after the flight until around Wednesday there was mainly K+K Protein 3000, Entrobac and young animal powder. The first drink after the flight consisted of Bt-Amin forte and Rotosal, so the boys recovered very quickly and you didn't notice the flights at all. Towards the end of the week the pigeons received RO200 to strengthen the vitamin balance and to bring the condition in top condition. When things went well, we didn’t change anything!”

Which are the most important products for you? 

"Difficult to define after this great success - we trust in the overall system. But we think a lot of the young animal powder, it has many positive properties, such as a high protein content, and really boosts the top form of the young pigeons. Especially the training performance in the travel season was indescribably good. But Entrobac also had a strong influence on stabilizing the intestines and boosting the immune system.”

Can we get a tip on how to name the right pigeons when there are 70? 

"Honestly, I can't tell you exactly. Although I look after the pigeons, my brother Dietmar does the naming and, as you can see, he does it extremely well. He only uses the price and arrival lists to name the pigeons and that worked great this year.”

Was there a special motivation for the youngsters? 

"Not really, we black out the youngsters and play them on a sliding door. The boys don't come up with eggs, I don't believe in that. By separating the sexes, the youngsters train much better. But we didn't have any particular motivation."

Where do the doves of success come from? 

"We currently have a particularly well-stocked breeding loft with pigeons from SG Hagedorn/Becker/Schwick, Willi Linse and a few pigeons from Sportsfreund Borgmann/Bischoff. The Heremans pigeons from Hagedorn/Becker/Schwick are currently the absolute top performers and significantly involved in these successes.
